A Toast to Our Hosts

Thank you to our hosts and partners in Kenosha!

We had a great week at the Southwest Library and we thank the staff for their wonderful hospitality. We started off the week with Leslie Bellais' slightly risqua presentation on Victorian undergarments, saw the crowds come out for a talk on beer barons of Lake Geneva, and ended the week of programming with a popular talk on the submerged SS Wisconsin and the recent research completed by our underwater archeologists on the vessel, just four miles off Kenosha's coast.

On Veterans Day we honored the men and women who served our country with documentaries produced in collaboration with the Wisconsin Historical Society, Wisconsin Veterans Museum and Wisconsin Public Television and held the 1st Brigade Band Concert of Civil War Music at the Reuther High School Auditorium. Senator Van H. Wanggaard provided thoughtful opening remarks on the service of our veterans.

Kenosha shared great stories and we even met a relative of the family of an historic Finnish farmstead now at Old World Wisconsin!

Thank you for sharing your time and stories with us, Kenosha!
