A Toast to Our Hosts

Thank you to our hosts and partners in Waukesha!

We started off the week of programs with Water Heritage Day. Local historian John Schoenknecht shared dramas of the Great Waukesha Springs Era, Society underwater archeologist Tamara Thomsen dove into the history of shipwrecks beneath the waves of the Great Lakes at the Waukesha Pubic Library. Author Patty Loew discussed environmental sustainability and Native American tribal leaders with a talk on her newest book "Seventh Generation Earth Ethics" at Carroll University.

We learned what it was like to be Alice in Dairyland from the very beginning of the program to the present with Margaret McGuire Blott, the very first Alice, Debbie Crave (Alice 1981) and Teyanna Lother (current Alice.)

The week concluded with a Waukesha County History fair organized by the Waukesha Public Library that connected people to their local historical organizations from throughout the county.

Thank you for sharing your time and stories with us, Waukesha!
